Just providing a couple more sources for the style switch he is talking about. People ask about them a lot on the Facebook page, figured if it’s documented good with multiple options may help someone out. The one Lowe’s sells is crappy and takes standard mower key but Lowe’s is open 7 days a week if anyone ever needed one in a bind it would work.

Most lawn keys for B&S are ground to kill and will work. The larger garden tractors have the extra accessory position on the key to run 12v things like lights and such, while the run position does not run them. Of course with a B&S or any magneto style lawn engine ignition it grounds to kill and nothing to run. That means you have no 12v to run anything on from the key unless you get the accessory type key. Otherwise the 12v to the key only goes to the starter solenoid when starting and that is it.
