With 22's and and final gear ratio 10:1 @ 4000 rpms would be 26 mph. I am guessing Jeff is actually Geoff Warner the founder of VC. At the end of the day with the right speed equipment the 670 is probably as good as it gets. BUT done for revs you are looking at about triple the cost of the DIY VC 460.

Well I probably will stick to the original game plan. I don't have much of an investment in the Greyhound and I think its a fairly solid platform. Parts aren't as expensive as the 670 and are more readily available as far as I can tell. Not to mention the wealth of knowledge form you guys. Thanks Ray.

In the quick links above is the speed calculator. Plug the #'s in and it is pretty close.

With the Predator 670, you're gonna hit the rev limit pretty quickly. As long as you're good with 25-28 mph then no big deal. They have tons of low end torque and work well in carts. It will be quieter and smoother running than any clone engine, and it has pressurized lubrication with a filter. Just a better design. I can't speak for their long term reliability, but I'm sure it would be better than a clone. The power difference is a definite benefit.

Thanks guys, I think I'm just gonna run with what I have for time being. I already have the clone and its another "challenge" to me. I'm still working on the frame right now. Its been wet and rainy here and I don't like to sandblast in my garage. I have several little helpers running around in here not to mention they belong to the wife. Geoff told me in a non-lifted cart the clone would be okay for a while. He also told me that the kit is the same minus , the exhaust, for the clone as the 670. That way when I grenade it I have a good base to start with for the 670. I also have seen some videos on the 670 builds. Up to 50hp I think. I figure I'll save a few benjamins and buy one and build it while tooling around with the clone.

Hey everybody, hope all is well in your families. Just got finished with the redneck paint booth that way I wont end up with a bunch of footy prints in my paint job. Actually built this in a small shed in my back yard. Closed it all in with plastic and used 2 filters in the top. Built a small box for a window fan another 24X24 filter and presto down draft paint booth.

So far the frame is all cleaned, weld and rust repair done, and primed for paint. I did manage to find time to get some color on the cradle though.
