Re: Beginner with electric carts, but jumped in with both feet
Here's the latest. Coming along pretty well. Still need to brush off some rust from the rear platform and paint it and finish wiring up some auxiliary lighting. But pretty pleased with the outcome so far. After adding the weight of the passenger seats, rear platform, and roof, it dropped me from 32mph to 28 mph. But I still haven't plugged into the Alltrax and attempted any programming yet...
Overall, a drastic improvement over what I started with... Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk |

Re: Beginner with electric carts, but jumped in with both feet
Haven't updated the progress in a while on the neighborhood/campground cruiser. Finally got some of the piddly stuff done and got it all back together and cleaned up. Turned out pretty good for a 1996 Club Car DS. With the Alltrax speed controller on its max setting, I can get 30 mph out of it (and at that point you can tell the tires aren't balanced 🥴) and haven't hooked it up to a laptop to tweak the programming yet. And in normal mode it will putt around like any other boring golf cart. 😄🤪🤣😆
Still may add a windshield and few more gadgets and an accessory port or two, but for now the blue underglow and the rear flood light will have to do. The kids and wife are already talking about wanting to add a radio... Just seems all that extra drain would really gonna kill the batteries. I appreciate everyone's help and support. This is such a great forum to learn and benefit from. |
