Re: Vc 460
The marina yesterday had more boaters than I have seen here in 20 years. Also we seen a small ray being reeled in on the beach. We will see what today brings.

Re: Vc 460
Are the people trying to be safe? I read a lot in the news that all the places that have opened up for business are having new large number of cases of C-19

Re: Vc 460
Marina was jammed again today. On our birding run we spotted a Black Crowned Night Heron. We had never seen one up close and roosting in a tree while eating ,preening and downing something in his gullet. Most of the party people down people on the beach and guys on boats together are not wearing masks. All the eateries are still take out only.

Re: Vc 460
I checked my horsefly trap with the Ray conversion for greenheads and it is catching them in numbers. Since only the females hunt by heat, each one I trap cuts down the # of eggs laid for next season as well as the # of biters this season. Again only the females bite for blood for egg production.

Geez We just got hit one of the worst hail storms I have ever seen. One minute it is 90 degrees and the next a very heavy hail storm.

Re: Vc 460
Took Vicki out today and was not attacked by any Greenheads. Could it be that some weather condition has shortened their stay ? Did the hail storm affect them ? We will see. Really nice doing the full 2 island run.

Re: Vc 460
We got some rain after weeks of 90f and dry. I'm so tired of watering stuff. Had to fix my PC it was all messed up.
Yeah more covid here from bars and parties mostly, people very close with no masks, young people. Keep your eyes open if your older though this has so far been mostly in larger cities some smaller towns had it break out. They closed the bars again because of it. Some people not wearing masks here now but mostly if I go out of town they dont, and they don't have any cases either generally. On the other hand the store is about the only place I go lol. On the holiday I went out of town nobody wearing masks but not that many people and we were outside the whole time. I still stayed away from the crowd. |

Re: Vc 460
This is the first day in many weeks with either cart not going out. Pretty heavy rain with 25 mph winds. I see some of the ocean shore areas have flooded streets. P.S. I just took the car to the post office. The main road has about 18"s of water on it so I guess were are cut off from the mainland for now.
