Just about 18 months since this mod....finally changed spark plug at the start of this year. I won’t update any further, I’m putting this one forever in the win file

Question Sean, did you use a relay or just direct to the throttle micro switch?

Sorry guys for some reason I don’t get alerts that I have new posts I have to figure that one out.

I did not use a relay for the power wiring.

What other details are you interested in? I can get you any information I have

(I know I said I wouldn’t update any further but for the record she is still kicking strong)

Interested in doing this mod, but I'm still learning about these carts. Where would I wire this too?

I went right to the load side of the solenoid. Energizes as soon as the micro switch clicks

I’m all about options and re-engineering.
Will be doing this myself soon, thanks for sharing.

Could you provide a parts list and maybe a description of how you did everything. I am very interested in doing this to mine. My diaphragm pump works but not the best at times and I'm having back firing issues also so I was planning on changing the carb and the pump also. If you are able to supply any info for this setup I would greatly appreciate it.

All I used was the pump pictured in the first post, a few hose clamps, a few tek screws to mount the pump to the frame, a new length of fuel line, a screw (can’t remember the size maybe m6) with Teflon tape to plug the old diaphragm hole, a short length of 14 awg wire, two ring terminals and two waterproof butt splices.

I landed the positive wire on the load side of the solenoid that engages the starter/generator and the negative to a bare spot that you create anywhere on the frame. Fuel tank to pump and pump to carb with the hose, clamp everything. Put screw in old pulse hole where diaphragm pump was removed, store diaphragm pump in a box. Throw out after 2 years or so realizing you’ll never go back. Since electric pumps are cheaper then diaphragm rebuilds by about 70 percent.

Don’t buy the Chinese carbs for like 20 bucks I had 3 and they were all junk. I rebuilt the Mikuni after learning my lesson.

The backfiring is most likely caused by a bad adjustment of the throttle cable or a missing spring on the throttle cable at the carb
