Default Pulsar coil

Will a pulsar coil for a 3pg 244cc engine work in a 2pg 244cc engine? If not, what's the difference between the two?

From what I can tell, that part list for an 81 and up so I guess maybe so. I don't when the 2pg changed to the 3pg. The 4 strokes are different.

I found a deal on this pulsar coil...but it says for a 3pg only. I'm not seeing a difference. Here's the link and check it out for yourself. http://www.golfcarcatalog.com/catalo...d=1678&id=5423

Hard to say, wouldn't be much of a deal if it won't work. the part I was looking at was the pickup itself, no mounting plates or wiring.
the mounting plate may be different but I'd bet the inductive pickup is the same. they work the same way.

That's what I'm thinking. I can unbolt this off the plate and put it on my old one. Besides, this one has the wires and everything attached to it.

I got it yesterday, and it's identical to the old one. The plate and all bolts right into place. I'll let everyone know how things went once I get her back together.

Got her back together today, and she fired right up!!! No difference between the 2pg and 3pg pulsar coils.
