12" wheels &/or 20" diameter tires on stock Yamaha
I have a 2000 Yamaha G19E. I've taken several measurements and it seems I could get away with 20" diameter tires without a lift. 20.2" would be too much but 20.0" should be perfect. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I'd like to go with 10" or 12" wheels with a 8"-8.5" wide, 20" tall tire. This should keep the tires under the cart like the stock one, just be 2" taller. This will help the ride of the 12" or even 10" wheels. It seems the several 12" setups I've seen the tires stick out about 0.5". Maybe a bad offset with the wheels? No good. As all the dirt and mud hit the sides of the cart. Not too mention it just looks cheap. Any experience or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. |

To add, a 205 series with a ratio of 40(18.46"), 45(19.26"), or 50(20.07") would be perfect. I can't find a tire in this size?!?!?!

Re: 12" wheels &/or 20" diameter tires on stock Yamaha
Thanks for the link doug but none of those meet the 205 width with a 40, 45, or 50 ratio. Any other ideas? or links?
Has anyone had success with this width and extra height on a standard non lifted Yamaha? I'd hate to order online and then have to ship back?!?!? |

Re: 12" wheels &/or 20" diameter tires on stock Yamaha
The 205/65-10 are 7.8" wide and 20.5" diameter.
The 215/50-12 are 8.46" wide and 20.5" diameter. Both of these work on the Club Car DS and the EZGO's with out a problem. If you experience fender rub, put 1/4" spacers under the springs which would equate to 20" tire diameter. |

Re: 12" wheels &/or 20" diameter tires on stock Yamaha
Very cool. I like the spacer idea.
Tires - so the 215/40-12's I see on several EZ-GOs that stick out beyond the fender wells are simply too much wheel offset? I will gladly go with the 215/50-12, they are big, 20.5", spacers will be needed I think. Wheels - all the wheels I've seen online seem to have offsets. Why is this? The tire widths are the same or narrower than the stock 8.5". Where do I find 12" wheels without offset. I'd like the outside of the tire shoulder to be the same as the stock setup. |

Re: 12" wheels &/or 20" diameter tires on stock Yamaha
I'm not sure why the offset is required as my cart is not lifted. It may be for tire clearances with a lift kit. IMO the offset adds stability and looks better.
My wheels are 10"x7" with a 22mm (.9") offset. My tires are 205/50-10 and just over 18" diameter. The stock 8" wheels are the only ones I know of that have a centered (no offset). There may be other sizes but I am unfamiliar with them. |
