Default Charging Problem

New to the forum and could use some advice. I purchased a 2006 gas Precedent about a month ago. I have had to charge the battery twice in the last week. Had the battery tested and it is good. After a full charge, the votage startes out at 14V and then slowly drops off with each use. Today with the cart running, the battery voltage drops from ~ 12.6V to 11.97 and then slowly rises to 12.06 and stays there until the motor quits running and then the voltage goes up to 12.4. Is this a voltage regulator issue or a starter/generator issue? Any different test I could run to pinpoint the problem?

Default Re: Charging Problem

This is a post I found using the search option at the top of the page. A very helpful tool.

Qoute from Phasetim:
If I remember correctly: Disconnect yellow wire from the regulator, test voltage from yellow post as + and then to ground. You should be getting up near 15-17 volts... If not, replace starter/generator. If you are getting voltage, replug voltage regulator, then test voltage on batteries, it should be closer to 14vlts.

If not, check micro switches near the regulator (I'm pretty sure one of those activates regulator) If they are good replace regulator..

The starter can work just fine, but not charge your batteries, and you will still need to replace it... ..
