A DCX is user programmable, but it doesn't have RPM limiting. Om the other hand, it does have a Top Speed slider that might be adjusted to less than100%.

If you got the DCX from Carts Unlimited, the attached is how it was programmed, so there may be something else.

When you push pedal to the floor, does the Greed LED turn yellow?

Ok I switched the tires and pumped them up and about to retest.

However, I did check the led status and it does turn yellow/amber when the pedal is pressed all the way down. What does this mean?

Thanks

LED turning to Yellow means the throttle is wide open and the controller is not in amp limiting.

Attached is list of error codes.

When the DCX powers up, the LED should give you four green blinks and then goes to steady green. (Meaning the DCX is programed for an EZGO ITS type throttle and no errors were detected during power up.)

Airing up the tires will probably up the top speed some, but there is still the question as to why the speed didn't increase when you went from 36V to 48V.

Could be battery issue, could be cables, could be solenoid or a couple of other things. Need to do some voltage measurements.

Do you have a digital voltmeter?

Two things happen when the tire height increases.
1. The tire's circumference increases, so the cart travels further per tire revolution. (Speed gain)
2. The tire's radius increases, numerically decreasing the cart's final drive ratio. (Torque loss)

Attached is a chart showing speed gain and torque losses for various height tires, as compared to stock height.

Since speed gain is based on circumference and torque loss is based on radius, the gain and loss are not proportional. IE: Going from 18" tires to 22" tires is a speed gain of 22.2% and a torque loss of 18.2%.

Due to the torque loss, the theoretical speed gain cannot be obtained, but depending on the tire type and some other factors, most of it can be.

Putting the tires on the correct side and putting air in the tires made about 2 mph difference. I'm at about 26-27 on flat ground. I was hoping for 30 but not there. Maybe wires and solenoid?

Thanks!

Getting a couple more MPH by increasing air pressure in tires is a good sign.

Cables and solenoid are possibilities, as are batteries and motor.

Or it could be all of the above. Have to do some troubleshooting to find out.

After running at top speed for a mile or so, are any of the cables more than 10°F above the ambient air temperature? If so, they cables need to be replaced.

Without a doubt, the stock solenoid needs to be replaced.

--------
This is speculation, but the voltage applied to the motor's armature when at top speed is 36V or less. Either the battery pack voltage is dropping to that level, or there is excessive resistance in the high current loop that prevents full battery pack voltage from reaching the armature.
