found an add for this motor.....

would it be worth getting for a swap?

John Deere K series LX178 15hp liquid cooled engine - $200 obo or possibly trade for another item. EMail what you have. (Alpharetta, GA)

Kawasaki John Deere K series LX178 15hp liquid cooled vertical shaft engine with Muffler and brand new Radiator.

Engine worked well before Thanks Giving. I have not cranked nor turned over since then but I suspect it would need a carburator cleaning now.

Removed from a 1996 LX178.

Engine model # FD440V Ser# 024688

1" diameter crankshaft with 1/4" full keyway. Crankshaft Measures 3 3/8" long and the end is drilled and tapped.

a vertical shaft won't work, you'll need a horizontal. it really sucks, cause the vert's are so much cheaper!! :D

You will lose reverse with any engine swap unless you get a 4 stroke rear end. For what it cost for a 4 stroke rear end you may as well buy a newer cart that already has a 4 stroke.
