Question I think I have a G9 cart that needs lots of help

I have a golf cart that we use for softball. The other day it just quit working. We finally figured out that the engine seized up from having no oil. We finally have it freed up and put oil back in. Now it still won't start. It'll start cranking and then just stop. We are getting a different battery to try tomorrow as this one we think is shot. Is there anything else that we need to check and make sure is working? Also by looking at the 3 pics that I did take can anyone tell what model this is? I am kinda thinking a G9 but I'm not sure. I looked for the number on the square bar under the drivers side seat and nothing there. If you have any other ideas where to look for it let me know. Thanks!!

i would say your engine is no good. If they lock up even if you get them to break loose you have already ruined ALOT of parts. i dont know if i would waste the money on a battery quite yet. might be time to either rebuild it or find another motor

You have most likely scarred the cylinder wall and will at very least have to have that reworked/replaced and new rings. I wouldn't waste money on a new battery just yet. Use a charger to boost it until you figure out what you're gonna do. just my $.02

It is a G2 cart, the G9 has a black rubber cowl trim while the G2 has the silver aluminum with black stripe cowl trim.
It could have done all the above but it could have also just got hot and expanded the piston to lock up.
Don't buy a battery, charge the one you have then check compression, then for spark, then pull the fuel line from the carb and spin it over to check for fuel. These are tuff little motors, you might get lucky.

A friend is bringing a battery over for us to try. I wasn't going to spend the money to buy a new battery if it doesn't work. Where can I look to buy a rebuilt motor and would it be worth the price to buy one vs a different car? I'm sorry for the questions....I'm new to these things. Thanks for all the responses.

you can find one in the for sale section every so often for a decent price when someone does a big block conversion. Other than that just rebuild it (or have it rebuilt) and you'll be good to go. And hopefully you learned that carts need oil too

Thanks....it wasn't my responsibility to check the cart and do maintenance on it. Now that it's dead my husband and I are trying to fix it. :). Right now we have to hand drag softball fields and that is a lot of work!
