Who Makes The Strongest 72v pack?
Hi guys,
As the title suggests I'm looking for a 72V pack that can power a curtis 650amp controller with a HPEVS AC-23 motor. Here's a graph showing peak draws and continuous draw. My question is what pack will best handle this? I see ECO makes a 72V but its really a 70V and when I look at say BigBattery there 72V is really a 85V.... does anyone know where RoyPow falls in this? and what might work best for this setup. its going to be a limo cart on 30's Thanks in advanced https://www.hpevs.com/Site/power_gra...ial%20peak.pdf https://www.hpevs.com/Site/power_gra...nuous%20FC.pdf |

Is the DC current in those graphs the motor current or the battery current? It’s not clear. I would suspect it’s motor current. 650A battery current is very high, probably too high for a 650A controller. Battery current is what you need to correctly spec a lithium battery and it will be lower than the motor current.

Not sure what one it is. I’ll call and ask the company. Either way I’m curious what 72v packs people are likening most right now

I went with the Bolt Energy USA 72v105ah lithium pack. No issues and works very well, if you are looking for one send me a message. They aren't cheap but come with everything needed for the install.

Not many choices on 72v systems. Curious what you decide on.

Re: Who Makes The Strongest 72v pack?
narrowed it down to roypow Eco or Bolt... any thoughts on the 3? thinking that Eco might have the best customer service and reputation but its also the most expensive... wonder if there will be 4th of July sales?

Re: Who Makes The Strongest 72v pack?
Bolt is the biggest of the off-the-shelf brands and uses a 23s configuration, which is actually a 73.6 nominal voltage. Bolt uses a quality BMS rated at 520amps as well, which I have yet to come close to maxing out.
If that isn't enough Bolt also offer bespoke packs in their Northern Lights line that uses Samsung cells and can be more powerful. I've seen another brand, Ice-X Lithium, that uses good quality cells and BMS in a 24s configuration, but they are a custom pack builder vs a major brand with warranty. Do NOT under any circumstances buy BigBattery. They skimp on quality. Cheap BMS will not allow even the best batteries to perform. |

Bolt is a true 24s lifepo4 pack.
They use good cells and a good brand name bms unlike all the others. Ive been thinking of doing a cart with that setup for a few years now. Would love to see how it turns out Messaged you |
