Re: 2004 TXT hard start
Sorry for the ling delay, but i dont spot the oil pressure sending unit (or where it would thread into) on my engine where it should be. But hate to bother you guys again with a slight dilemma. Cart runs and starts fairly easy and good just runs extremely rich, which from previous answers in my post in more than likely is going to need valves which wont happen til October when time frees up and camping season is over. But I went ahead and just thought i'd try an #80 main jet instead of the #82 that was in it to see if it would lean it down. It may have leaned it out but had a tremendous amount of back fire, etc. So i flipped back to the #82 that it ran well on, other than running rich. Well now with just swapping main jets it backfires ever so slightly going downhill mostly. My question is which of the 2 cables need adjusted to close the throttle plate so it doesn't backfire. just trying to get it back to where it was before swapping jets. very weird that just swapping jets and going back to the original #82 with nothing else that changed other than the jet that it would of made this change. Idle screw on carb is removed and throttle plate responds and retracts (not sticking as well) Hate being that guy always asking for input and I apologize. Just would like to get it running back the way I had it with the #82 until this fall when i can change valves and get it running not so rich. Thank you very much!

Re: 2004 TXT hard start
Very possible that the needle is leaking and letting excess fuel into the system hence the excess fuel. Clean the carb and pay special attention to the needle and seat.

Re: 2004 TXT hard start
KGSC- thanks for your input, needle looks to be somewhat worn very hard to tell. Looked it up part #72578G01 around $41. Any other suggestions where to source a cheaper option at? This cart seems very sluggish after disassembling the carburetor. Has very little power going up the slightish incline. Never was like this before the carb inspection. Any input is greatly appreciated!
