Toggle Switch Question

Hello. I recently aquired a 1991 melex 412 in near mint shape. It will need batteries sooner than later but i think i made out well with what i paid for it. Ok so my question, when i bought it i was told the toggle switch near the forward and reverse lever was for tow mode. Which i mostly understand what that is and how it works. But the guy didnt know which way was which. Whether upp was run or vice versa. I called a local repair guy and he said there is no way it is a tow switch because something that old would not have it. So i am stuck with no clue on what rhis switch does. I ran it in both modes and i cant tell a difference. Hoping someone may know. Attached is a pic from the outside.

I suggest tracing the wires from the switch to where ever they end up. Could be something a previous owner added. Since nothing obvious happens when you switch it, what ever it was for could have been removed. If the wires are terminated to something, and you can't tell what it is, post some pictures of the connections. Most likely someone here will be able to figure it out.

I have same question. My Melex has the same toggle switch. Up until now I just thought it was something unique to the cart I have.

It's not a run/tow switch. Trace the wires and see where they go.
