Default Charger plug and cart plug redo

Greetings, I am back after WAY too long away from playing with carts and have a new project for my father in law. He has 2 basically dead carts that are going to be rebuilt!!!!! But one is roughly a 2002 TXT and the other is a 96 ish marathon with a TXT body. He wants one charger configuration so that he can run either charger to either cart. The charger for the older cart has the old style plug and is a Schauer (I think) but definitly not powerwise. I want to swap to the newer D style on both carts.

My quesiton is, can I literally change the plugs, both male and female on the older cart and it work with either charger, or are the electronics/controllers/charger inerds too different?

Part of my problem is that both carts and chargers are 4 plus hours from me and he would at least like me to order the charger parts to start on this at Thanksgiving next week.

Thanks guys and I hope I can contribute and suck up some knowledge again!

YES......obviously both carts are the same voltage...DUH....and as far as the carts themselves they don't care .......its the batteries that care.
