Default Rear shocks on lifted electric RXV

I have 2 RXV's and was looking under my lifted cart, Jakes 6", and noticed that there was only about 2" of shock travel on the rear. I looked at my stock cart and it was the same. I'm thinking I want to put air shocks on my lifted cart for a better ride when weight is on the rear seat. Don't want the rough ride of heavy duty springs when it is under a light load. If I am replacing shocks I was thinking about cutting the shock relocation braket on the Jakes kit and get longer shocks to go to the manufacture original position. The only problem I see is the shock might interfer with the spring due to the spring over axle flip but I figured I could space the upper mount to gain clearance. Has anyone attempted this or does anyone see a problem with this theory? Thanks Jeremy

Default Re: Rear shocks on lifted electric RXV

the HD RXV spring is a mono leaf too. IMO they ride nice. not harsh. but i like to feel the road not float over it like a buick.

but back to your plan. I would say the bigger airshock will contact all kinds of things under there. you will more than likely need to make all new mounts to clear suspension.
