It’s been done, but the trick is finding one low pressure and low flow enough to not flood it. Something like 1 or 2 psi tops.

Search the OEM # 1014523. In a quick search I found hits ranging from under $10 to over $100. Club car seems to have updated to a new part # - it's all plastic. But the original (metal) number is still available in the after market.

are you having problems with ones you have purchased?

I have a metal one that is over a year old from ebay, $13 no problems. I do know that lots of others have had no problems with cheap $11-14 fuel pumps. That doesn't mean they are flawless, but if you're having problems with cheap ones perhaps look up the OEM keihn pump and get one of those.

how many replacements have you gone through that havent worked?

The old metal pumps can be rebuilt. New diaphragm and valves in a kit for about $10.
The new style plastic pumps cant be rebuilt, but they only cost about $20. Search for a Briggs and Stratton 808656. The Genuine B&S pump is original equipment on the later model club car gas carts.
There are lots of knock-offs of the same design. Not sure how long those would last.
