I want 30mph from my 99 48 volt regen 2
How do I get 30 mph and have power to climb hills? Cart with 22 inch tires. Currently it does not run. Is it better to rip the sepex stuff out and get a series motor and controller?
72 volt with 9 of the 8 volt batteries? Or can I get 30 mph with 48 volts? Cart is used around town |

I’d rip out the regen2 stuff and convert to a 48v IQ system. Then 30mph is pretty easy.

How steep are your hills? Might need to look into a Navitas AC kit.
Bigger tires make you lose torque needed to climb hills. Not many DC motors will run 30 up a hill, but the AC motors will get you close. Either way, you’ll want new batteries. Power starts with the electric delivery, and old or weak batteries will be a huge roadblock with any new high current motor and controller. I agree that an IQ conversion is the way to go, but you’ll want to talk to someone who knows the best motor setup for what you want the cart to do. |
