Default Speed Sensor Problem???

Two months ago after taking my 2010 tomberlin emerge off the trailer from the weekend, I had the cart go into limp mode. I thought I may have toasted the speed sensor letting it roll off the trailer. I replaced the speed sensor and everything worked fine. Now two months later I am having issues where the cart is going along fast and then slows down and then just speeds back up (surging). I am thinking that the speed sensor may be the culprit again but I did buy the OEM sensor. Any advice on what to look for?
Thanks
