1996 Ezgo Needs More Power
Hello,
I Have A 1996 Ezgo Txt. It Needs More Power For Hills. It Really Slows Down When It Gets On A Hill. Any Suggestions!! |

Get out and push? j/k
A little more info on cart will be helpful. Series or DCS? Batteries in good condition? Connections clean/tight? Speed/torque ain't free. |

Is your cart lifted?
Stock wheels/tires? In short: More Voltage = speed More Amps = torque New controller required for both. Plus more lead = how do you charge? Lots of threads on upgrading. The "Search" function is your friend. Get your wallet out! |

Re: 1996 Ezgo Needs More Power
Sorry, your cart was designed to run on a golf course flat out on level ground around 12mph. Put a couple of 200lb guys and a 50+lbs of golf gear, etc. it's going to slow down on grades.
Try running some more air pressure (at expense of ride). Make sure batteries are fully charged. In the end, it is what it was designed to do. Speed/torque costs real $$$$. You can go as fast as you want or build a cart to pull tree stumps. Whatever your wallet will allow you. Or in my case, a concerned spouse! Use the Search function. This has been discussed many times in many threads covering all manufacturers. |

Re: 1996 Ezgo Needs More Power
I prefer the Alltrax brand of controller. Specifically the AXE models for series sytems.
Motors: U pick em. Advanced D&D GE and if you have a ton of $$$ check out Warfield Electric's WARP line. Rebuilders like EMP can take your stock motor and rebuild it for some extra juice as well. They may even have one on the shelf to send and you simply replace and return the core. Again, all of this (probably not the WARP info) but the rest of it is readily available throughout this forum. Don't be a research weenie! |
