Losing Power at High RPM
Hello Everyone,
Just finishing up a rebuild and still running rough. Here is what I have done. Crankcase seals New Carb New Starter Generator New Head Gasket and Base Gasket New Belts Compression: 95 Piston and Case seemed fine, almost like new. Here is the problem, starts and runs good at low RPMs, but when I push down on pedal, it engages, then slows, engages, then slows, ect, ect. On all the posts here, the carbs only have one adjustment, but all that I see online clearly have an "L" T bar and then a screw next to it with an "H". I know this is a high speed screw. Do I need to adjust this? |

Re: Losing Power at High RPM
I don't know those Tillotson carbs at all so I can't help much with the carb adjustment. That said, it can't hurt to try to adjust it. Just do it in increments and remember your starting point should you have to revert things back.
To be honest, you may well have a clutch issue going on there as well. You may want to try to remove the load from your cart by jacking the back up and running it that way. If it revs up real good then you probably have a clutch issue. I believe those HD clutches are serviceable. Let me know if you need a manual. |
