You guys are doing a great job and I'm learning an awful lot of "do's and don'ts" from reading this entire thread. Thank you to everyone who is contributing patiently.

One question for Sergio - I notice that you have a tray in the battery compartment. Do you have a part number or source for something like that? I have a '99 Club Car DS that I'm converting and I need to seal up the battery compartment from water splash. Or did that tray come with your cart?

Also, someone earlier asked for a voltage converter that is good for 30 amps and also has a disable line. I have had good results with this one:

Off of YZPower website this model is suppose to be adjustable. I have included a photo from their website.

Thanks Sergio, but it didn't work.
Quick question, since You have 2 pots in each board, did You try the other pot in each board as well or just the one with the red arrow in your picture?

Make sure you put the pots back to their original position if it did not work and don't use the charger if the voltage reading is still too high.

HummerKart, that battery bucket is the way Precedents come from factory, You can call David with RevolutionGolfCars.com to find out if they fit the DS and if they are reasonably priced.

The relays listed above use 3/16" quick connectors for the coil and 1/4" quick connectors for the contacts, You will need insulated crimp terminals for those.
A few of the links are dead. Having a hard time finding a box for the batteries.

Tech Direct website is awful. Call them I am sure they have them. Their website is terribly maintained.

Are you looking for a metal battery "box"? I have one for a 7 module set. My nephew welded it up to my spec's. The only "mistake" I made was having it just a tad high. It fits well under my TXT seat.....but I couldn't mount the ZEVA BMS on top as the seat would rest on the ZEVA when closed.

So, other than the height thing, it's a very good box. IIRC I painted it with Rustoelum paint. I also have the proper size all-thread and nuts.

Lemme know if your interested.

Dave

Thanks for the tips guys on the uy600, i found one that was marked 48v at 10 amps on ebay and took a $10 gamble that it would be adjustable.. I got it in yesterday, and sure enough looks like the one in the picture where the v adj pot is. I was able to easily set it to 56.7

Next up is to source a BMS, and various components to make this safer.

Hello guys,

what do you think of this BMS, states that it can handle 400A... Looks solid! I would think I would not need external solenoid with this one... if it works.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001...6b5b68efJAhkos

Bluetooth module here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001...ca003e4eM4zdq4

Then it also a suprise if it supports modifying key paramaters that I need to change when charging to max 4.15V.

Cheers
Sam

My build is about the exact opposite principle, use a small BMS and relay to disable the controller on LV & HV since cutting OFF the pack from the cart by either using an external Solenoid or internal BMS FETs can be dangerous for some controllers during Regen brake and corrupt the firmware of other controllers.

That BMS would not be a good option for builds based on this thread.

First off, thank you Sergio for creating this post so somewhat electrically challenges people such as myself can have a chance at performing this swap. I purchased all my parts based off the shopping list you posted in the early pages of this thread. Started working on things today and I am a bit confused as to the BMS wiring, I didn’t receive any information with mine, I’m trying to determine where BC-1 - BC-15 need to go? Obviously some go to balance ports and other pack ports but I cant seem to find which or why? This is a 7 cell pack I will be putting together on a 2009 Club Car Precedent paired with an Alltrax XCT500. Thank you

Look at the diagram on post #91 in this thread. I think it'll answer your question about the BMS. The only difference in my cart and yours will be the vglide connection on my cart. That connection on my cart is to cut power in an LV situation. Sergio references what you need to do for your cart on the first or second page of this thread.
