a sticky idea. all the part numbers for parts
idk how to do a sticky but it would be a great asset to those of us who love our Harley carts. it would be helpful every time one of us buys a part or gets it cross referenced to add it to the list like i found out blue streak points number DR2240X is a great set for a HC.

Re: a sticky idea. all the part numbers for parts
This is a GREAT idea!
I just started a complete rest of a '76 D model. I would love to be able to save some $$$ and source out some parts at my local auto parts store. Does anyone know if the starter/generator belt matches any certain auto application? |

Re: a sticky idea. all the part numbers for parts
i downloaded a timken bearing and a seal chart. the echelin/ blue streak points above will fit. they will be listed for several cars heres one 1969 nova 6 cylinder. i am assuming they use the same condenser. when i get time i will get on my hd parts list and convert some more seals/ bearings. with a timken number you can cross reference them to any other brand.

Sometimes the condensor is a little bigger but should still fit. __________________________________________________ _______ COIL Internally resisisted coil. Primary resistance = 3.4 to 4.2 ohms and Secondary resistance = 6,000 to 9,000 ohms. 1974 MG Midget 1.3L 4 cylinder coil. They typically state on the body of the coil "No External Resistor Required" but the resistance can vary between them. Externally resisted coil needs a ballast resistor or your points will burn up faster or burn out the electronic ignition modules on newer models. These are not hard to find at an autoparts store. They typically state on the body of the coil "External Resistor Required". __________________________________________________ _______ SPEED SWITCH DIODE 67-85 ----- 3 amp diode from Radio Shack. As long as its over 18 volts, it is plenty big enough. __________________________________________________ _______ STARTER SOLENOID A regular automotive starter solenoid won't last long because while the cart is running the solenoid is always on when running. Use one rated for continuous use. I haven't had the luxury of hunting this item yet. __________________________________________________ _______ CARBURETOR 67-81 HD has the Tillotson carb. 82-86 models are supposed to have Walbro LMB230 or LMB231. 87-95 models use Walbro WHL 11 1295. The Tillotson carb (or knockoff of it) should fit models through '87 and there shouldn't be any linkage changes. A 1988 EZGO Marathon carb, Mukini (or knockoff of it) type Part# 21740-G1 should fit 67-95 models with some modifications to the linkages and air hose connections. __________________________________________________ _______ So this is the information I have. I can't promise it is all 100% correct but I know most of it is. |

For plastic fuel tanks: Fuel pickup check valve and filter screen, Dennis Kirk # 1827 $4.95
elbow fitting with rubber seal, Amazon Nachman 10640 with free shipping $7.18 ( I think I paid a lot less somewhere else but I don't remember where) |

Re: a sticky idea. all the part numbers for parts
I bought my crank seals (471733) from Baum Hydraulics for about $4.00 each but their freight is with UPS which is outrageous. 4 seals cost $9.30 freight.
