Default 5 panel mirror install question

I bought the 5 panel mirror and watched DIY's install video. I wasn't thrilled with having to drill holes in the roof. Their video showed (at the 3:50 mark) how to attach directly to the roof supports (like with the precedent install) instead of having to drill through the roof, but you had to buy their extension brackets. So I bought the extension brackets. Have had them for weeks now and still can't figure out how all these pieces go together to install without drilling holes.

Then we get to their customer service. I called DIY to ask, and was told that "they have sold 100's of these and I'm the first one that has called with install questions". Attempting to make your customers feel like idiots is a really awesome approach to customer service, so a big thumbs up for that. But not being the sensitive type I thought "great, then they shouldn't have a problem explaining it to me". Wrong. He WASN'T able to explain it to me, he didn't know himself (although he certainly wasn't going to say it). He put me on hold multiple times to ask others and to watch the video himself, all the while attempting to make me feel like a huge inconvenience. He then went on to say that their instructional video was wrong and that the install with the extension brackets works exactly the same as without, you still drill holes. He then did an annoyed dig at all of their customers in general saying how can we (the customers) expect completely accurate information when DIY pumps out massive volumes of it for free.

So, anyone actually KNOW how to install these on a '92 Club Car DS using the extension brackets from DIY and mounting them to the roof supports instead of through the roof as stated in their video?

I have a 2004 Precedent and I have whatever brackets came with it. I had to drill holes in my roof supports for the brackets then fastened the mirror to the brackets. I will try to remember to take a pic of it tonight.

My goal was to mount mine up as high and out of the way as I could.

Bayberry,

Every Wink Mirror I've see uses the roof support bolts, you just remove them and use them with your hanger hardware.

Only on '00 and newer models. '99 and older the roof design and width is different. Hence the extension brackets that DIY offers to make it work. If someone could just tell me how to use them I would be a happy girl.

I see the problem, LOL just joking, ha ha, yes I'm a sexis pig sorry.

Why not just install the brackets on the mirror then hold it in place were you want it, then mark the holes to be drilled and drill them? Pics would help.

Are you in Mid Ga? I'll be right over! I drink NL's.
