Anyone running a 22hp - 23hp Kohler Command?

They mostly seem to have a 1" shaft and used motor prices are good

Check out Midwest Super Cub. A lot of pullers use them highly modified. Exotic fuels 100 hp +

Good engines, expensive new, but can be found used reasonably priced. They are considered by some as one of the better small machinery engines out there, very long lasting and built well.

As far as use in a cart? Any large Vtwin is going to be a good powerplant. I've never used one, but I would if I ran across the opportunity! 23hp is 23hp the way I see it. Most Vtwins of this size are going to have tons of low rpm torque, great for a golf cart with big tires that is used off road climbing hills and such.

I do have a friend on here that used one on his Club Car, it was a beast. It ran like a top and would do zero to 20 in a blink! His cart was geared quite low so it might have been better with a set of gears. But you'll have that on a golf cart, usually geared quite low.

If you are considering a Kohler, I say go for it!

Kohler Command engines are torque monsters at much lower RPMs than a Briggs Vanguard

Kohler Command
674cc
22.50 HP @ 2400 rpm
49 TQ @ 2400 rpm
90 pounds
