Default free electric yamaha

i have been given a electric yamaha golf cart. it is very rough. but the battiers are trojans and only one year old. the battery area is in bad shape lot of rust. the owner said that the charger did not work. and the cart would run if charged up but it ran faster backward than forward. body has some damage and all the tires are flat. i do not know anything about yamaha carts. i have only owned and worked on ezgo carts. is this yamaha cart worth working on or should i junk it out for parts.

Only you can decide if it's worth it. I just picked up a free 36 volt club car resister cart. Batteries hold a charge but the charger is shot to crap. I got it not because I want it or think I'll use it. All my other carts are gas and I wanted the learning experience from it. Even if I loose a bit of money at the end at least I learned something and that means something to me. So it's really hard for me to tell you yes or no. Personally do it and learn. If you get to over whelmed or burried get what you can out of it. If you do get it running and learn from it and are able to make a profit of any kind or even use the heck out of it then it was obvously worth it. Good trojans alone are worth dragging a free cart home. Keep the batteries in decent condition and youc an always sell them off for a good couple hundred bucks.
