My 36v -> 48v Conversion Odyssey
I just completed my 36v to 48v conversion & have video documented it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxmA...jssEeN4CK8pCkA This is for a 1993 DS Electric Club Car. It took me about 2 months, but I am a busy dad of 2 Anyway, I hope it helps someone who may go through a similar process. Special thanks to ScottyB for helping with some of the parts and some useful info. Also, much of my needed info came from reading threads all over this site. Didn't need to post much, as I eventually was able to find all the answers, or just figure it out on my own. Cheers! |

Enjoyed the videos. I think I heard a little "Tim Allen" grunt when it came alive I'm glad I could provide some needed parts and info. Later on down the road, the Admiral MOT-A1 is the best economical choice for speed and torque in this cart.

Well done on the cart and the video. I didn't hear her call "shotgun". Is that a permanent position?

By the way, how does it perform with the new set up? How much extra speed. Seems to climb those hills with no problem!

When we were kids the neighbors farm had an old Harley 3 wheeler, us kids used to raced it on a course against the clock. I was hooked at an early age....just like your young one appears to be. LOL

Yeah I'm guessing the old motor gets warm at times, but I try to go easy for the most part. But I will want to upgrade the motor eventually & probably some front suspension work. I have a lift kit & not really sure how to adjust it. It is out of camber so bad that the front tires wear on the inside. |

Re: My 36v -> 48v Conversion Odyssey
Yes the uphills are the most noticeable improvement. I hardly slows at all. Because my old batteries were so run down, and I don't have much flat road where I live, I didn't do a before & after speed test because I didn't think that would be meaningful. But post-upgrade I have clocked it on the gps at about 15 uphill & 23 down. Also, even though I have giant knobbies on the rear, it now spins em on uphill offroad sections until it connects in a very ATV fashion!
