Default 2007 ezgo 36v txt

I am looking at this cart to see if I can get it working. When you push the accelerator, it momentarily tries to go but, then stops. Let off the accelerator and it will do it again. Forward or reverse is the same. Jack the back wheels off the ground and it works fine. Batteries show 43v. Pack voltage at 37 and only drops a couple of volts when running while jacked up. Anyone have any ideas? Solenoid engages and stays engaged until accelerator is released.

I suspect the pack is dropping too low under load.

Well this time it decided to work. I did check the pack voltage while driving and it would drop to 32 and then ease back up a volt or two. I tightened all connections and found one on the controller side of the solenoid that was not exactly loose but, it sure wasn't tight. I'll ride it for a couple of days and see what happens.

I'll let scottyb confirm, Pretty sure 32 is too low and your looking at 1 or more bad batteries.... have you let it charge until the charger shuts down ?

It's not an exact science. Batteries usually fail to perform when they drop about 1 battery per pack. Meaning 6v down from full charge 38v or 42v down from 50v.
Much depends upon the tire size load and terrain. Paved flat terrain can be forgiving of voltage loss. Still the results above are not good.

These are pretty much my symptoms when my batteries finally died :) I pulled all my cables and cleaned them up on the bench, took a few days to charge all the batteries individually, swapping out the 1 dead one (found by checking voltage on each battery 1 at a time)...

then charged the pack for a full day till the charger shut down.... it would barely make my driveway and did maybe 8-10mph when it previously did 22...

That led to... do i buy all new lead acid batteries at whopping 162 each... or bite the bullet and go lithium, save 350 lbs, no more maintenance etc....
