Re: How to make 2015 RXV go 26-30 mph
You want to turn as much chemical energy into mechanical energy at the motor. The more resistance your cables have, the less efficient your current (amps) delivery system is. The higher the current, the more you lose as heat. How much heat is lost depends on a number of factors, but heat )Watts) = current squared time resistance, so double the current and you quadruple your heat losses. Heavy acceleration, big tires, fast speed, heavy passengers, wrong type of tire for terrain, etc. all make the motor work harder and any time it works harder, it draws more amps, and more amps = more heat.

I made my own cables. In order to do that, U bought a cable cutter and a 6 sided (hex) crimper. I also bought a small torch for soldering the connectors after crimping, and several sizes of sealer lined heat shrink in red and black.

Re: How to make 2015 RXV go 26-30 mph
I just bought a used 2015 RXV. The cart goes 19/20mph with the stock wheels and tires.
If I only upgrade the wheels and tires to the max size for an RXV w/out a lift (215x50/12), will the cart go faster? Are the 20.5" tall tires too much for the stock controller? |

Re: How to make 2015 RXV go 26-30 mph
The 20.5 is the max you wold want to go with on the stock controller. Any taller and you would really want to invest in the 350 amp. Just adding the 20.5 tires and inflating them properly should net you an addition 2 or so mph over stock tires. For even more, contact Bob Boyce and have him work his magic on your controller. He did mine a few months ago and it's incredible.
