Taylor-Dunn's could have been "gear/chain" or 3 belt driven. I think PQ and GB are running modified ford 9 inch with sparkie motors.

GB,thanx for the pics your builds are far out!!!Questions if you don't mind?I can see the 4 bar so it will be suspended,is the motor solid mounted ??The coupler I'm sure had to be machined, and the motor must have it's own bearing support? If what I think I see is correct how does the whole deal work with out a drive shaft ?Thanx in advance,I think old Super Gas racer is getting the itch!!!Dave

Dave..The motor is bolted stright to the rearend.. We used the same coupler the dragsters use

We had to make a sleeve to weld the male spline to before we could make the connection between the motor & the rearend..

A cradle was built to support the motor to a fixed position.. The motor is bolted to the cradle & the cradle is welded to the rearend...

The rearend bolts to a 4 link & a sliding wishbone held up by coil over shocks...

Dave. Hope this answers your question... I would love to see you get involved. I’m sure you can take us to the next level..

There is four of us building drag carts with the ford 9'' rear end. Come May 14 2011 in Pageland South Carolina these carts will all meet for the first time... And they will be turned on turned up & turned loose...
