Stock muffler ????
I keep hearing about the stock muffler getting clogged and causing engine problems. Is there any way I can clean the muffler to keep this from happening to mine? I like the quite stock sound so I don't want to get a new muffler.
Thanks Mac |

Re: Stock muffler ????
Is this on your G2?? This is a problem associated with 2 stroke engines.
G2 is 4 stroke from the factory. |

Re: Stock muffler ????
Sorry i did not tell you it is my G2. So I don't have anything to worry about? I heard that it would build heat and mess the valves up.
Thanks Mac |

Re: Stock muffler ????
Plowman swears that G2/G9 mufflers plug up after years of running rich on golf courses. no way to clean them out without cutting them open

Re: Stock muffler ????
they are talking about a G1 muffler BBQ. you might be able to do it on a G2/G9 muffler.

Re: Stock muffler ????
I have taken both 2 and 4 stroke mufflers to a radiator shop and had them boiled out to clean them up and they all have worked great.

I can just see my wife's eyes when I explain why I am getting the firepit going again. :)
"It is to clean out the muffler, Honey" Her eyes will go wide, the phone will come out and she will be calling them to take me away. |

Re: Stock muffler ????
I just BBQ my G1 muffler the other day and it weighed 21.7 Lbs. before and 21.0 after. I couldn't tell a big difference in the way it ran. I think because I'm having carb problems.
