G9 fuel problem
I am working on a G9 that would die if the accelerator is pushed to the floor. I checked the fuel pump outlet and was barely getting any fuel to the carb.
there are two lines going to the pulse side of the fuel pump. I closed off the one coming from the head to the tee coming from the crank case. Now I am getting a lot more fuel flow and cart runs pretty good. Does anybody have any idea what is going on here? Also It has a new fuel pump and carb was replaced today. |

Re: G9 fuel problem
Most pulse fuel pumps have 3 ports. Fuel inlet, fuel outlet, and vacuum pulse. If you blocked off the pulse line you should not get any fuel.
Did you remove the fuel line from the carb to check the fuel stream/pressure? I usually use a clear plastic container to catch the fuel as I crank the engine over. I don't have a G9 so I'm not familiar with the T fitting. |

Re: G9 fuel problem
There is two lines that join together and then go to the pulse port on the FP. One comes from the crankcase and the other comes from the valve cover. It just barely pumps any fuel as is. I blocked off the line from the valve cover and then I get plenty of fuel. Cannot find any leaks on neither hose. Is there supposed to be a check valve somewhere? I don,t understand how this setup can work. Looks like the crankcase would just relieve to the valve cover and not pulse the fuel pump. Can't find a drawing showing the route of these lines.
