48v to 12v reducer- adding a switch
If you dont wire a reducer to the ignition switch, can you just wire a toggle switch to either the negative or positive wire going to the battery? If so, which wire would you add the switch?
Thanks |

Re: 48v to 12v reducer- adding a switch
I’m not sure that it matters but I’d do the positive. I know that my 12v reducer had a key switch power wire. I didn’t use it because I have a kill switch and no key. But like I said I’d use the power side.

Yeah, the golf cart frame is not supposed to ever be 'grounded' but we've seen people do it before. Putting the switch on the positive side will work even if someone has grounded the frame. If you put the switch on the negative side and it's been grounded then the reducer may find the negative through the frame mounting.
