Our SW180 36/48 volt solenoid has a true 42v coil.

Otherwise it is generally accepted to use a 48v solenoid on 42v. It may not last as long as a 42v coil but, it will work. And a 36v solenoid will work for awhile but it will have the shortest life working at increased voltage.
