Default dc converter install question HELP!!!

Can someone explain why the negitive black wire on converter's HIGH side not connected to any thing.. Plus when connecting the red wire to positive side of battery it blows a BIG spark..

What do you mean not connected? Mine always shows a huge spark when connected the first time.

its not connected to the battery. the 12 volt side is connected to batteries on both positive and neg but the High side is only connected to the Positive side the neg side is not.. picture attached

If you've got the 12 volt side of the reducer connected to your battery pack, I hope you haven't already destroyed it. The 12 volt + and - are the leads to power the accessories. The high voltage wires are to the battery pack + and -, though they may not end up attached to the battery terminals themselves (possibly battery side of the solenoid and controller B-).

no 12 volt side is not connected to battery... the high side 48 is connected but only the positive is connected not the neg..

OK, I was just going by your post a couple up: "the 12 volt side is connected to batteries on both positive and neg". Are you saying the 48V + sparks when you connect to the battery pack even while the 48V- is not connected to anything?

You've got several posts on this same problem. Lets try to figure out what you've got. So your 48V- is not connected to anything, looks like a 4 wire converter. What are the other 3 wires connected to?
