No the 4.410 was way short . Russell said the forged piston designed for the longer VC rod. VC had forged pistons WAY before they came out with the long rod. To me and I am not a pro builder, it looks like bullfrog with their 92.5 mm piston is the one with the right deck height .Alas that would require a .010 over bore on the block. But he correctly states that the ARC rod in the 460 requires a deck height of 1.100. BUT what I can say is with the unmilled VC 92 mm cast piston the deck height is spot on. The ARC rod itself is date etched 7/3/14. I bought it on a black friday sale from VC way before the long rod existed and was planning on using the cast piston is why I didn't buy the matching Ross at the time. He hesitates sometimes doesn't get the parts of his dreams.P.S. The piston I was sent had a compression height of .900 which would match up with the bullfrog 4.610 rod for the 460 listed on his site.

Using the rod you have and the piston you have -- how much of it comes above the block? Is it possible to cut the top of the piston down? I figured if the long rod wasn't right -- it had to be the shorter one, sorry.

It was short of the deck by about 0.200. Sent back to NR. If I am right there are going to be a lot of people that will be sending pistons back. I have a feeling I was the first one to look at this new batch of pistons.

I'll most likely be the second. If there .200 short you'd need a rod 4.710 for them to be flush.

I just noticed today that I have 625 hours on my G 14 since buying it in 2008 and 265 hours on my VC 460 since its swap in late oct 2014. Time flies when you are having fun. P.S. Searching for how to wire up the VC 460 led me to BGW. P.S. My EXP-S carb acts like FI. I just turn the key and VROOM. Hot cold it just starts. No pumping the pedal or fluttering the throttle as before just VROOM. Nice just really nice. This thing runs so good I wonder WHY do I pursue the Omega motor idea ?

Hey sorry to pop in on your thread but I don't know how to put pics in a PM.
I am starting to tear into my 460 to see what could be wrong with it. I remember someone saying something about timing. I took this pic at TDC. Seems the magnet is past the coil at this point but I know nothing about how and when it actually fires the plug. Any help is appreciated. I am just trying to get some idea before I take it all apart.

There is a certain amount of advance built into the system. I don't know if you have an advance timing key either. But in any situation if the key is intact your timing should be fine. There were some people with the offset key shearing them but unless the timing didn't move much I doubt the engine would run. P.S. My Vc 460 thread is for any clone users needing any sort of help here on BGW.
