Columbia build/ conversion
This is a thought. The only thing I need for this is a rear end. I picked up a columbia car some time back. It's electric, resistor coils, dead batteries etc.
If I bought batteries and controller and a motor and charger, it might make a nice cart. I just got a rotax 35hp snowmobile motor and was considering a home for it. I think I only need a rear end with a reverse and fab work for a fun, fast cart. What do you think? |

Re: Columbia build/ conversion
That looks like very old Rotax, if the ignition is a bosh be vary aware they are crabby and hard to find parts for.

Re: Columbia build/ conversion
It actually has electric or pull start. I haven't checked the ignition yet, but it ran before it was unassembled and shipped. It probably is bosch. There are motor parts available, and I can do 2 strokes.
I don't know, it was just a thought. I got nothing to lose, just labor. We'll see. See ya. |

Re: Columbia build/ conversion
Thats the way. This motor runs and it was cheap, has everything. Carb, clutch, exhaus pipe and it was installed in an ezgo before. The pipes already been modified to fit inside the body Just put the motor mounts in the correct place and go. I hope.
There is a lot of room on these. |

Re: Columbia build/ conversion
Probably the same bosch ignition with the points I had in my Maico. You use a tdc gage and a beeping ohmeter to set those. It should be fun. Like the flintstones.Oh, I meant the old days
