Default Solenoid question for club car 48 volt upgrade

As I progress with my buddies 97 club car, 48 volt, we are putting in a 500 amp GE controller, and larger cables. On my cart I'm running scottyb's super duty 400/1000 solenoid, but I have a club car Albright SW80-1275P solenoid in my spare parts box, will this solenoid handle the 500 amp controller?

The SW80 will work for a while but eventually it will stop working and hopefully you wont be in a bad spot when that happens. I think the SW80 has a 125A continuous rating and im not sure of the duty cycle but if you live in a hilly area or the cart is going off road your continuous amp usage is going to go up. I would change it now before you put it on and forget to do it later. I have a CC 252 that comes with a Curtis 1520-5501 which is basically Club Car's proprietary 1268 which is a 500A controller. This cart comes stock with a SW80 but the controller is so "tuned down" that I doubt it really reaches its full potential. I switched over to a real 1268 and a D&D motor retuned by Plum Quick and I had to remove that solenoid for a SW180. The solenoid will work for you but it wont last.

Okay, since we have the cart apart, I think I will upgrade to one of Scottyb's.
Thanks for the response!

I'll share the jist of our email with everybody - based upon the build and use of this cart I highly recommend the MZJ400.

Google the internet for the best price with resistor and diode or insert forbidden link here
