Default Scrap battery prices

What are you guys getting for scrap batteries, in NJ $12-$15 per battery seems like the going rate. I was talking to some guy and he offered to go to Delaware and split the money with me, he said they pay $25 per battery. (Seems kinda high for scrap batteries) I have about 25-30 batteries to cash in on.

I think currently scrap lead is 30 - 35 cents a pound.

When I bought new batteries for my cart the core charge was $35. $25 seems like a fair deal, or you could just sell yours to folks that need a core to buy new batteries.

Depends on what size battery. I just scrapped 4 12 volt cart batteries and got $85. I thought that was pretty good.

$25 a core = $150 a set... seems like the crackheads will be stealing them just for scrap soon?

They already are! Our local salvage has put a limit of 2 batteries a day for scrap. Businesses are exempt from that new rule! The other week, someone broke into the yard, stole some batteries, and then tried to sell them back! You know they were crackheads!

Yea, I've had a set of batteries taken from a cart, put up cameras and a sign and the crackheads never returned. I've been hanging on to these batteries for about a year, they keep multiplying, lol!
