Question New golf cart is howling???

Hi all,
I just bought a 2000 Club Car electric golf cart (sight unseen) and got it home. It is a 36 volt and I am super pleased with the cart except I noticed a howl (that is the best way I can describe it) in the rear end whenever you start driving. Is this normal or does anybody have any ideas what that noise could be. Thanks!

Probably the motor bushings are worn out. Just hope that there isn't ant damage to the input shaft. Take it to a repair shop that knows how to fix it - it is not uncommon for this to happen

There is a differential that requires oil. Sometimes the gears will whine when they go dry. Sometimes a rock or something will knock a hole in the cover.
However, Mike is probably correct, it probably is motor noise....

There is a Club Car DS at our campground that sounds like a 747 going around the roads. It's REALLY loud. I feel sorry for the cart!

Thanks for the responses. Mike, how expensive of a repair are we looking at if that is the case? I paid $1,400 for the cart with 2 year old batteries. Just wondering if I got snookered.

I'll guess you should get away with a couple of hours of shop time... and the bearing is inexpensive. Hopefully that is all it is? I would check the rear end oil first. There is a fill hole half way up the differential. (30w motor oil)
