Also, this thread really should be in the Clone or Big Block section correct?

Something else you can do is rig up some kind of brake at the secondary clutch to stop it from spinning at idle. I`ve seen some brakes where its a bicycle disk and caliper adapted to the clutch, or a bicycle cantilever brake where the rubber brake pad presses on the belt at the secondary clutch or a lever brake with brake shoe where the secondary clutch itself acts like a brake drum. I`ve experienced these clutch braking systems with old amphibious AATV`s.

thanks guys yeah i have like 3.25" deflection lol. my father in law has an old timer analog rpm gauge like this one. you just press it against the shaft and watch it spin for 30 seconds or a minute, i made a video while i did it so i could be sure. I think ill order that carb, any recommendations on what else i need? what size air filter do i need? sounds like ill need to make an airbox too.

You can use the stock unit or any one of the K&N type units with an adapter for the 390 clones sold by VC,NR or EC. All depends on the space you have. Another good idea is one of the ElCheapo digital tach sold on EBay.
