Tire sizes
I recently purchased a used 2005 ST Workhorse. I was curious to know if 20x11-10 tires would fit on it okay. I have an opportunity to get a new set of 4 for s really good price but am worried that extra width will rub the tie rod end. I've been browsing the forums for the last couple of days, just found the site. Very good information. Much appreciated!

Re: Tire sizes
Look at my cart, it's a workhorse and that's also the size tire I'm running. I have the 1-5/8" stud spacers on mine.

Re: Tire sizes
I don't see that tire size a problem.

Re: Tire sizes
I have a 99 cart that I recentely lifted 3" and put 8x22 tires on it that look awesome, however I have found that the power to climb steep hills is dramatically reduced. We use it as a body hauler Beach cart and have a very steep driveway and if I don't take a running start at the hill it won't make it up. It appears to Need the rpms to develop the hp. Obviously it does go much faster with the bigger tires. Not sure of there is any way to circumvent the problem of lacking power?

Re: Tire sizes
I have found that all you have to do is to buy a high performance clutch spring and it I creases low end torque up to double what was stock. This promises to resolve all the problems we might face plus we have the higher top end and win all the way around! That's rare in these days where everything is a "trade off"!
Good luck! You can see how to do it on Utube. |
