Default 99 EZGO Series cart GE Universal Series controller?

I just purchased this cart yesterday from someone that picked it up last year at an auction. its obvious to me now that this thing has been fairly heavily modified and I'm going to need some help getting it back together.
I am going to attach a few pics and specifically am interested in if anyone can easily identify the controller on it. that's where he said i should start. So it turns out that its a GE universal series controller, but no idea of the amperage since the stickers are all worn off. If anyone has any ideas of how to figure it out, that would be helpful. or, is it? Can I just replace this thing with another rated for this 36v / 8hp motor considering its lifted and has these huge tires? any help will be appreciated.

That looks like an early Star control by GE they came in 500 and 700 amp models. The model # will have either 500 or 700 in it. Any series controller will work well in the cart like the Alltrax SR48500 or bigger SR48600 (680 amp peaks)

Nice find! What did you pay, if you don’t mind sharing?

Also, that controller terminal with nothing on it is the "power on" terminal. Won't be going anywhere like that.
