Just a Click When Pushing Accelerator

I have a 2000 48 Volt Club Car DS VIN# A0012877355.
A few times when pushing the accelerator while in Forward nothing would happen, I would move the F/R switch and press the pedal and it would go thinking it was the F/R out of place. Today I was driving on pavement in a light rain for a while with several stops. When leaving the last stop it felt like the rear tires spun a little., but not sure they did. I think it just tried to go and stopped. So I let off then back on. It now just clicks when I push the accelerator. The batteries are 2 years old and check out fine. Just came off a charge last night.
