Default 2000 Club Car Lithium Upgrade Speed Changes

Hello All!

I recently bought my electric 2000 Club Car DS, with old trojan batteries that were dying quickly after charge, but good enough to get my family around the neighborhood. There were issues with the cart getting up my steep driveway or any hills at a decent speed. Upon reaching a hill, if the battery was low enough I would experience some "stuttering" of the cart and often would not make it all the way up the hill. Therefore, I did some research and found a good Lithium option to replace the trojan batteries. I did so yesterday, and I can tell that the batteries were definitely the issue with the "stuttering" as this no-longer happens, but instead, now when I hit the pedal to go, half the time it will be as slow as it was before, and the other half of the time it will sit me back in my seat and GO. I am just confused at the inconsistency? The changes only occur when I come close to a complete stop and then accelerate again. Like I said, half of the time it is slow from the stop, and half the time it is as fast as desired. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I pulled the cover off the V-Glide to see if it was reaching the top and bottom like it should, and it was (unfortunately). I am not looking to replace any parts as I just spent 1k on the battery and its not 100% necessary, but if there are any fixes or things I could try, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

What battery?
Do you have a multimeter? I'd measure voltage on the motor as you press various throttle positions. You can do this on jack stands.

Do you get the same behavior when you do come to a complete stop?

I can borrow one from a buddy. Are you thinking it might be the controller that is affecting how much power is being sent to the motor?

Yes, basically from the moment I am either stopped or rolling to a stop, when I hit the accelerator it either takes off quick or very slow. There is no in-between

So in both instances the pedal is completely released. When you re-apply the pedal and it starts off slowly does the cart stay at the same low speed as you increase the pedal or does it slowly accelerate to normal speed? And would you call the slow speed half-speed, or slower?

^ this.
But I would measure voltage on the motor as I slowly press the throttle all the way down. Try and figure out how many voltage steps there are. If it's all or nothing, that's not right.
