Re: 1994 Medalist Reborn Build
This project has been on the back burner for a while now. We sold our house and just finished moving. Too many things going on with that to continue stacking parts, and did not need additional, expensive items to move around.
The move is finally over so back to the project. The garage is not functional at the moment, but I will make quick work of it now that I am in one place. I just ordered the Plum Quick "Demon" motor. It is the highest torque, highest speed motor they have for a 48v EzGo. They said it is a 3-4 lead time, which is perfect for my timing. I plan to install it and finish wiring everything up while there is not a body installed. I am set on some 25" tires, but I am still looking for the right 12" wheel. The options are not as vast in a 12" size that are not ugly. Those will come next, with the body after that. Battery will be the final item. |

Re: 1994 Medalist Reborn Build
Tires have been ordered. I found some 25x11r12 tires on amazon for $330 delivered. I decided against the way more aggressive tire that I was looking at. I know I would prefer the look, but I think the ride might be too harsh for 95% street driving.

12” wheels ordered.
Modz d window steel wheels. This was the one down side to a 25” tire…..12” wheels. The options a very slim. Mostly ugly. The upside is more rubber than most. |

We have the same/similar. They are not too bad in the street as far as being a rough ride. We cruise the neighborhood and they roll easily enough but do give you the Wwwaaahhh…

Re: 1994 Medalist Reborn Build
Yeah, we had that same tread pattern (whatever brand) on our first cart. Nothing special at all, just not many options in a 25" size.
Most everything in a 25" is super aggressive...mud bogger style, so this was the best route to take from what I could find. |

Re: 1994 Medalist Reborn Build
After receiving the wheels and tires last week, I had them slapped together. I only got one bolted on because the cart is pushed up against the wall in the mess of a garage. I have been busy with other areas of the new house, and I have not quite made it to the garage space yet.
What a size difference from stock, but also noticeably larger than the 23" I ran on the last cart. |

Re: 1994 Medalist Reborn Build
Tires mounted up!
Also, a nice delivery from Plum Quick....my Demon motor. Happy to start resurrecting this project. I will be keeping my eyes on the Amazon Prime Days sale coming up for the Lithium battery. |
