![]() If I install the Vatrer 48V 105AH (as opposed to the 36V, where there is a $285 price difference) Lithium Golf Cart Battery in a 2006 EZ GO PDS having the aftermarket Alltrax XCT500 controller (purchased from ScottyB along with a cable set) and the stock motor, am I creating a situation I will regret?

![]() You will not regret a conversion to lithium.
You will have to change the settings in your Alltrax to 48 volts. You will need a new 48 volt solenoid and new charger that may be included. You will be smiling ![]() Seems like a pretty good battery although with overstated specs. |

![]() Since you have an Alltrax controller,, you may want to download the Alltrax software that allows you to set parameters of what the controller will allow in amp draw from the battery.
After I hooked up a laptop to my Alltrax and had it create a file that shows amp draw where I ride (and that file gives a ton of info) I set my max amp battery draw to 300. So....even if the cart motor is demanding more than 300amps the controller will limit the draw from the battery to 300amp. I did this and had no noticeable difference in performance when I would drive up some very steep hills. I did this setting in order to conserve, or "stretch out" the power of a battery charge. In your case this should prevent your BMS from a shut down if the battery is putting out more than the top BMS settings are. |

![]() You’ll neither regret going lithium or upgrading to 48v. Both will make your cart much more enjoyable and doing them together will make a big difference

![]() Fwiw I installed a Valtere 48volt 105 Amh battery in my 48 volt cart with stock controller.
So far no issues. Better increase in acceleration, lost almost 300 lbs getting rid of lead acid batteries. You will not be disappointed going lithium. No real downside in converting. I did find their customer service very responsive when they replaced a faulty remote display sending a new one net day. Seems like a rebuttal company that stands behind their product. |

![]() Anyone buy from site sponsor Vatrer? I have purchased a couple of times from ScottyB's Cart's Unlimited and it was a flawless experience.
And now I see there are Mode Speed and Regen dash mounted dials to control the XCT500 controller from the seat! Might need one of these! |

![]() I bought a 72v battery directly from Vatrer’s website last year and have been very happy with it.
Also had good customer service and was able to directly text someone with the company who refunded me $100 after I purchased as a coupon that wasn’t working on the website. |

![]() One word of caution, some people have reported a shorter lifespan of the PDS motor by switching to 48 volts. Do your research and make an informed decision. I think ScottyB as one that doesn’t recommend it but others say it works okay. Just from what I remember.

Now I have regen dialed back to 50A, and have tried 75A, and both work without tripping the BMS. But I miss the harder braking. Which brings me to your observation about the mode and regen dash mounted controls at ScottyB. I think it would be an easy fix to have two profiles. 1) for full battery charge and reduced regen, and 2) say 95% soc and get my 100a regen braking effect that I prefer. BTW, the touch screen is nice, but I didn't want to give up the dash space. I view all the same data and control on my cellphone by Bluetooth to the battery. I also did NOT mount the charger on my cart. |
