fold up rear step
Has anyone designed folding rear step? My issue is a length one with a golf cart fitting in my car trailer. I think I can come up with something to fold the step up over the rear seat but don't want to reinvent the wheel if it has been done.

Re: fold up rear step
What kind of a cart and step do you have? A picture will help. |

Re: fold up rear step
You could make a removable or fold up one using a trailer hitch reciever easily. Just a thought....

Re: fold up rear step
90's yamaha gas cart. Don't have a clue what kind of rear step or seat set up but has the side rails and the seat converts to flat bed. It looks to be a very standard seat and step. rails go from back of seat all the way down around and to the step. Step is boltes on each side to the rail and is bolted to the frame with 6 inch wide 3/8 steel.

Re: fold up rear step
Sorry for small pic. You will need to fold at a common radius where I pointed to get the rail to rize and fold in with the seat. Needs some thought? |

Re: fold up rear step
I thought about putting pins in the area you are pointing too and rotating at the bolt that is in the rear of the seat. I need to brace the bottom so it will stop and not rotate.

Re: fold up rear step
That could be a hitch and insert.

Not sure who makes it, but I think this is what you're looking for. I'd like to know who makes them too. |

Re: fold up rear step
I made my own using some aluminum bar stock and hinges from Home Depot. A couple cuts and welds later, she fits in my 8' pickup with the tailgate closed. Best of all, I'm only out about $30.00 for all the materials. I'm attaching a pic below. If you need any others, let me know.
