Default O-I_C

i have a set of piston rings I had lying around from 2006 and I have a 99'
Rebuild manual
What I need help on is identifying which piston ring is compression and the wiper

One ring is completely grey and the other one have a silver machines edge on the outside
The completely grey one is perfectly square no beveled edge but the grey/machines edge one has a bevel to it on the inside

Also they have a small dot/ circle so really don't know top from bottom

Default Re: 1991 EZGO motor location

From what I can decipher from the attached parts manuals covering 1984 thru 1992:
Prior to 1986.5, the motor was in front of the axle.
Between 1986.5 and the end of 1987, motor was on top of axle and split case differential was used.
From 1988 on, a Dana differential was used.

I suspect either the body (with ID tag) got switched or the rear axle did.

I was searching the internet trying to find out what type of cart I have. I ran the serial numbers through the system, and even checked with an ezgo rep and both have told me that my cart is a 2000 TXT with a PDS. But.......

The F/R switch is not on the dash, which is associated with a PDS system. I have the lever down by the right knee below the seat.

Was my cart kit bashed?
No, the early 2000 PDS carts had the F/R lever by the driver's knee.

It was the same as the later model DCS F/R switch except for the shape of the cam.
The DCS F/R cam closed one switch in F and both switches in R, while the PDS cam closes either one or the other.

I guess the bean counters at EZGO eventually realized the $100 cam switch could be replace with a $10 rocker switch on the dash.

From what I've been able to determine, the controller is the same as the one used in later model 36V PDS carts, so upgrades for it are the same.

If so desired, that F/R switch can be replaced with the dash mounted rocker switch, or a CC F/R switch can be mounted in the existing location.
