Default Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir

Hey everyone,

I popped out the console/cup holder to access headlights to adjust the beams lower and noticed the white reservoir (which I think is the master cylinder reservoir for the brakes) is totally empty.

I haven't noticed any leaks, etc. so not sure it ever had fluid in it.

I contacted dealer and they're supposed to get back to me but wanted to ask
if anyone has had to re-fill with brake fluid?
To what level?
And what type brake fluid?

Thanks for any feedback!

Dave

Wow! Surprised the brakes work, but since they do work, I would add brake fluid. Once air gets into the system the brakes will need to be bled. I'm not sure what brake fluid is required, but it's a typical hydraulic brake system so any current car model brake fluid should work.

I dunno what brand of brakes you have, but as nickmo stated, any quality brake fluid would, I think, do the job.

I do have to wonder if you have a leak in the system somewhere? Did you check all the lines for that?

My dealer picked up the cart to check it out, add fluid and bleed the lines.

There was not an indication of leaking under the reservoir or on the garage floor, so not sure it was ever filled with brake fluid.

I'll try to get the best advice for recommended brake fluid and pass it on (unsure if it matters if brake fluids or mixed or not in the lines).

Also, I believe ICON should include inspecting/filling the brake fluid in the operator manual as a routine maintenance check.
